Terracota model of plough and evidence of a ploughed field have been found and Kalibangan
(Rajasthan).

Harappan sites at Shortughai in Afganistan, traces of canals for irrigation, have been found.

Harappa was the first site to be discovered, of the Harappan civilisation.

Ratio of the bricks used in Harappan Civilisation was length and breadth were four times and
twice the height respectively.

In Dholavira and Lothal in Gujrat, the entire settlement was fortified, The Citadel within
Lothal (Gujrat) was not fortified.

Scholars estimates that the total no. of wells in Mohenjodaro was about 7000.

In Lothal, the houses were built of mud bricks but drains were made of burnt bricks.

The great bath at Mohenjodaro was a large rectangular tank that was used for some kind of
ritual bath.

In Harappan Civilisation, Jewellery has been found in burials of both men and women. But
Harappans did not believe in burying the precious things with the dead.

Use of gold was very rare in Harappan civilisation. Rare objects made of valuable materials
concentrated in large settlements i.e. Harappa and Mohenjodaro and rarely found in smaller
settlements.

Nageshwar and Balakot, both Harappan settlements were situated near the coast.

Finished products from Chanhudaro and Lothal were taken to the large urban centres such
as Mohenjodaro and Harappa.

Harappan people got, lapis lazuli, a blue stone, from Shortughai in  Afganistan.

Harappan procured copper from Khetri (Ganeshwar-Jodhpur culture) in Rajasthan.

Linga (a  polished stone)  was worshipped as a symbol of Shiva, in Harappan Civilisation.
